Near to central Melbourne you will find the two riverside neighbourhoods of both South Melbourne and Richmond, with the diverse suburb of St. Kilda standing further south and offering a good selection of beaches, bars and affordable accommodation. St. Kilda has become a trendy spot, known for its friendly locals and somewhat bohemian atmosphere.
